Beef. It's what's for dinner.
This cuts of meat chart I designed for Shriver Meats, located in Maryland. The printed sign will measure 24"x36" and be displayed in their market for customers to see the specific cuts they offer. Entire design was done in Adobe Illustrator and is all vector art.

AAEA Photography Book

Finally got my hands on this book, A Century of Farm Photos, from the AAEA- The Ag Communicators Network! I played a small part in its making by helping with some original design direction and gathering historical dairy photos. Some of my photography is also featured in it. The extremely talented Jim Patrico (editor, photographer) and Donovan Harris (Art Director) did an excellent job on the book.

New Hoard's Dairyman Cover

May25_2020_hoards

Check out the latest cover of Hoard's Dairyman featuring one of my photos! Hard to believe it's already been almost two years since I made the switch to freelancing full-time. Thankfully agriculture remains a big part of the work I do. Just yesterday I was on a dairy farm shooting some training videos for a client. Luckily it was all in the parlor as it was a very rainy day.

Farms have always had the health and safety of both their employees and animals as their highest priority. Yesterday was no different. There were multiple hand washing stations set up even before you'd enter a building. Both myself and the staff were all wearing face masks, gloves, and additional protective gear. No one is better at adapting to life's challenges than a farmer.

Videography for the National Dairy Shrine

Video Restoration

Now that peak photography season has passed I've been able to finish up some larger projects. This week I completed a series of videos for the National Dairy Shrine archives. Learned some new skills in order to clean up some of the older audio recordings from the 1950's.
Fort Atkinson is very fortunate to have top notch museums like the Dairy Shrine and the Hoard Historical Museum.
My next project is a large website rebuild and rebrand for an association. Will be able start some decoy carving after Christmas too.

Happy to learn that I earned two first place awards in the photography division at Ag Media Summit last night and moved up to level five in the Master Photographer program.
Congratulations to my friend and ag photography icon, Jim Patrico (front center), on earning the AAEA Lifetime Achievement Award. Also congratulations to my friend Corral Creek Communications (Martha Mintz on earning the Photographer of the Year award!
AAEA- The Ag Communicators Network is hosting their 100th Anniversary next year in Kansas City. I've been helping create a book to commemorate the milestone and showcase the changes in ag publishing over the past 100 years.
